It’s all about supporting our immune system and health as we near the middle of winter and beyond. The combination of the amazing ingredients in this shot help to do just that and pack a great nutritional punch which also helps to support the immune system, lift energy levels and reduce inflammation – great for our hormones and skin too.

Turmeric -is an adaptogen (support the body’s natural ability to deal with stress) and contains a powerful compound called Curcumin which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The bioavailability of turmeric is increased when it is combined with black pepper

Green apples– packed full of plant chemicals, including the flavonoid quercetin which has anti- inflammatory action. Apples are low in calories, a great source of vitamin c and potassium and also contain pectin, a ‘soluble’ fibre that can help to lower ‘bad’ cholesterol.

Ginger Great for giving shots a kick but also to help alleviate gastrointestinal issues, plays a role in reducing inflammation in the body, supports the immune system, rejuvenates skin and increases energy levels. It also contains anti- microbial properties. Ginger contains many important nutrients and vitamins including vitamin C, B5 and B6, along with a good amount of the mineral’s potassium, manganese, copper, and magnesium.

Lemons – are abundant in vitamin C and flavonoids, both powerful antioxidants, important in preventing free radical damage to cells, supporting the immune system, for skin health, increasing iron absorption from food, weight loss and the prevention of scurvy.

Honey – possesses an array of plant chemicals that act as antioxidants. It also contains antibacterial and antifungal properties (in particular raw and manuka honey).

These ingredients combined pack a great nutritional punch that not only provides us with immune system support but is also fab for the skin too!
