[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]By Sue Bedford (MSc Nutritional Therapy)

Cranberries are packed full of antioxidants, are anti-inflammatory and contain a special compound which helps prevent bacteria from sticking in the urinary tract reducing the risk of infection.

Fresh orange juice is fantastic nutritionally as it contains plenty of vitamin C, vitamin D,  folate, potassium and thiamine (vitamin B1). It also keeps you hydrated and is great for supporting the immune system.

Ginger contains antibacterial properties along with anti-inflammatory compounds.

These ingredients combined together pack a great nutritional punch that not only provides us with antioxidants to help fight infection and help to reduce inflammation, they are also great for the skin and provide support to the immune system.

Ingredients (makes 2 shots)

2 oranges freshly squeezed or 100ml fresh orange juice

80g cranberries or 80ml cranberry juice

10g or an inch of fresh Ginger

Method

Juice and blend. Pour into a shot glass in the morning and enjoy.  If you are busy why not double up the ingredients to make enough for a couple of mornings- cover and keep in the fridge.

Enjoy!
