“I was 32 when I decided I wanted a baby. (17 years ago!) My husband was in a rock band, and whilst on tour, I excitedly sent him a text with the words “Let’s have a baby!!!”. Four years later, and after 2 rounds of IUI, 2 rounds of IVF and a serious case of severe OHSS which meant two weeks in hospital, I finally realised my dream, and I’m now the proud mother of twin girls who turn 13 this year!! The journey was a tough one though.I went in ‘blind’ having done absolutely zero research. I knew no-one who had ever had difficulty conceiving, and instagram didn’t even exist! It was a very lonely 4 years and a struggle to work through this whilst working with no support.”

IVF mum, 10 years trying to conceive, misdiagnoses, after 9 years meeting an incredible consultant, with the right tests and diagnosis, treatment, went on to be blessed with her twin girls. Now in menopause and a genetic condition. Juggling work throughout, reproductive health wasn't a topic that could be discussed at work.

Mum to twins, four years trying to conceive, numerous miscarriages, misdiagnosis of PCOS. Underwent fertility treatment for unexplained infertility resulted in boy/girl twins. The twins were born prematurely at 30 weeks and spent their first six weeks in NICU and SCBU. Asymptomatic endometriosis, discovered following an excruciatingly painful experience in the office, exited in silence as no one could reach out for help. To the present day, twins have recently been diagnosed with multiple-spectrum neurodiversity, requiring a different approach to parenting. Managing work through fertility treatment, early birth, and holding a full-time job whilst getting the twins the support needed and treatment for endometriosis has been a juggle. Whilst empathetic, business needs more education/ coaching and understanding to better support employees’ reproductive health journeys and parenting.
