Description

PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) is a common hormone problem that can affect fertility and make it more difficult to have a baby.  Many women of childbearing age have PCOS, but most don’t even know that they have it until they begin trying to get pregnant.

Our Advanced Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Blood Test contains a comprehensive hormone panel including tests for the hormones testosterone, FSH and LH. I

It also measures anti-mullerian hormone which can be elevated in women with PCOS, as well as prolactin which can give further insights into your fertility. This profile includes tests for thyroid function, diabetes and cholesterol, all of which can be affected by polycystic ovaries.

This test is for you if:

  • You are having difficulty getting pregnant and think PCOS could be the cause
  • You are experiencing symptoms such as irregular periods, excessive facial hair growth, weight gain, oily skin and hair thinning
  • You know that polycystic ovaries raise your risk of diabetes, high cholesterol and thyroid disorders and you want to check your status
  • You want to be proactive about changing your lifestyle to control your PCOS symptoms

Hormonal contraception can affect this test, taking a break from this and using barrier contraception will give more accurate results.
