Dr Raj Mathur is our Senior Fertility Consultant. A Consultant Gynaecologist with a long and established career in Reproductive Medicine. He is the clinical lead at St. Mary’s Hospital in Manchester and also the chair of the British Fertility Society (BFS). He has unique understanding of the individual needs of both private and NHS patients, as the creator of Cambridge IVF clinic, which he established in the region before moving to Manchester in 2014. Well published in the field of fertility on reducing the risks associated with treatment, he has specific expertise on Ovarian Hyperstimulation Syndrome and is the author of national guidelines relating to the condition. Dr Mathur is also external advisor to the HFEA and is lead for Policy and Practice for the British Fertility Society. “Manchester Fertility is a highly patient-focused, yet cutting-edge clinic,” says Dr Mathur, who is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. “I enjoy working with the team to deliver effective and safe fertility care to everyone who needs our help.”

Dr Anamika Rao is our Fertility Consultant with experience in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, Infertility and Early pregnancy. She has completed her undergraduate medical training from India and post graduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from India and the UK (CCT). She is also a BFS accredited trainer for IUI / embryo transfer, Assisted conception, Fertility preservation and Management of the infertile couple.

Peter joined the Manchester Fertility team in 2009. He undertakes consultations and performs all the related investigations and therapies, his special interests are in Obstetrics & Gynaecology Peter also worked as Consultant Gynaecologist at CareUK Greater Manchester NHS CATS, having qualified in 2000 in Hungary and gained his EBCOG recognized specialisation Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 2005. He has good experience in both obstetrics and gynaecology. He enjoyed research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology in Oulu University Hospital, Finland. He gained subspecialisation in Clinical Genetics. He is a member of the British Fertility Society and diplomat of RCOG Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare (DFSRH).

Consultant Gynaecologist Dr Nikolaos Tsampras joins our team after many years supporting patients with gynaecology and fertility issues at St Mary’s Hospital and Wythenshawe Hospital. Trained in Greece and the UK, Dr Tsampras is highly experienced in all types of assisted reproduction techniques and offers general fertility diagnosis as well as specialised procedures you may need, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and HyCoSy. Dr Tsampras is a member of a range of professional fertility bodies including the British Fertility Society, British Society for Gynaecological Endsoscopy and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology, with many widely-published scientific research papers.

Dr Majumder is an experienced Gynaecologist with expertise in infertility, reproductive medicine and laparoscopic surgery. With special interest in endometriosis, fibroids, adenomyosis, uterine malformations and how these conditions impact fertility, he’s part of the team at the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Centre at St Mary’s Hospital, one of the largest endometriosis referral centres in the UK. Dr Majumder performs diagnostic laparoscopy and dye testing to assess fertility and specialises in minimally invasive procedures (laparoscopy and hysteroscopy) to enhance fertility. He is also a preceptor for trainee doctors who wish to develop skills in advanced laparoscopic surgery.

Dr David Robertson is an experienced gynaecologist and specialist in reproductive medicine. He has worked in the fertility and IVF field since 1986, following his training in obstetrics and gynaecology in Glasgow, London and Leicester. He is the former Group Medical Director for Bourn Hall International, responsible for Bourn Hall’s overseas clinics in the UAE and India, until joining Manchester Fertility this year. David has a particular interest in the genetic aspects of fertility treatment, including PGT. He also has experience in managing poor prognosis patients and those who have experienced repeated IVF failure.

Dr. Bidisha Ghosh is an experienced Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with a particular interest in Reproductive Medicine. Her expertise includes Fertility Treatment, including assisted Reproduction, Male factor infertility, and Recurrent miscarriage. She has worked in the Department of Reproductive Medicine and IVF at St Mary’s Hospital, in Manchester, for six years, here she has been able to gather extensive experience in the various aspects of Assisted Reproduction. She has completed the Advanced Training module in Subfertility and Assisted Reproduction and modules of training offered by The British Fertility Society.

As a urological surgeon, Steve is the consultant you may see if you have male fertility issues. He performs Surgical Sperm Retrieval and is highly-skilled in microscopic surgery to ensure the best chance of success for intricate procedures such as vasectomy reversal. A member of the British Fertility Society and a reviewer for the International Journal of Andrology, Steve is heavily involved in male fertility research with many published articles in this field. He also teaches and lectures medical students and other health professionals, through his certificate of Medical Education from Dundee University. Steve says: “Male infertility is a specialist interest of mine. There’s so much we can do these days to try to ensure your own sperm can be used in treatment. It’s so rewarding to be able to help those men who are having difficulty conceiving, sometimes conventional treatment isn’t enough on its own and procedures are needed for maximum chance of success.”

Vaibhav is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at the Manchester Andrology Centre, Manchester Royal Infirmary, Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. Having joined the North West of England's regional centre for male sexual and reproductive health (Andrology), he is now one of the highest-volume penile prosthesis and Peyronie's disease surgeons in the UK. He mentors surgeons around Europe in the infra pubic penile implant technique. Vaibhav is also part of the reproductive medicine team at St Mary's Hospital as a male factor infertility surgeon specialising in microscopic techniques. Vaibhav undertook his undergraduate degree in Southampton, completing his surgical training in Manchester and Birmingham. During training, he gained, with merit, a master's degree in Leadership for Health Service improvement at the University of Birmingham. He went on to undertake an international fellowship in Western Australia (Perth) at one of the largest tertiary teaching hospitals in the country, where he was nominated for trainee of the year. On returning to the UK, he completed a further one-year specialist fellowship in Andrology at the internationally renowned University College London Hospitals, Institute of Andrology. He has also completed specialist training in erectile dysfunction surgery in one of the USA's highest-volume penile surgery centres. Vaibhav is an active researcher and strong advocate for Men's health issues. His work has, and continues to, result in numerous international research publications. He is the associate surgical speciality lead for Andrological research at the British Association of Urological Surgeons and Royal College of Surgeons, England. He has previously served on the European Association of Urologists (EAU) Male sexual and reproductive health guidelines panel. He sits on several professional committees, including the International Society of Sexual Medicine (ISSM) young researchers and clinicians committee, the American Urological Association (AUA) international research working group, and the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS) Executive committee for Andrology and Genito-Urethral Surgery.

Dr Jayeeta Samanta is an obstetrician and gynaecologist specialising in subfertility and reproductive health. Undergoing her subspeciality training in reproductive medicine in her homeland India, Jayeeta completed her advanced training in subfertility and reproductive health in the UK under the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is a British Fertility Society-certified specialist in assisted conception, pelvic ultrasound, male fertility and Quality Management of a fertility clinic. With over 15 years of experience, including five years of training at nearby Saint Mary's Hospital, she has extensive experience to bring to Manchester Fertility patients. Jayeeta has written several publications and has presented her work widely at national and international conferences. She is a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and the British Fertility Society. Her special interests include female fertility problems, three-dimensional ultrasound and risk governance.
