Blueberry and ginger antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, immune support shot

Sue Bedford (MSc Nutritional Therapy)

Blueberries are amazing! They are rich in Anthocyanins, a powerful antioxidant, are low in fat, packed with vitamin c and are a good source of fibre. Apples help support the immune system too as they are also rich in vitamin c, antioxidants and contain many plant compounds including Quercetin. Ginger contains antibacterial properties along with anti-inflammatory compounds.

All of these ingredients combined together pack a great nutritional punch that not only provides us with energy and help to reduce inflammation, they are also great for the skin and provide support to the immune system.

Ingredients

2 apples of your choice to juice or 100ml fresh Apple Juice

150g Blueberries

10g or an inch of fresh Ginger

 Method

Juice and blend. Pour into a shot glass in the morning and enjoy.  If you are busy why not double up the ingredients to make enough for a couple of mornings- cover and keep in the fridge.

Enjoy!
