Pineapple, orange and mint tropical sunshine shot

By Sue Bedford (MSc Nutritional Therapy)

Get up and go with this delicious and nutritious sunshine shot, which is filled with essential nutrients for health and fertility.

Pineapple – a favourite fruit when it comes to fertility and a good source of  vitamin c, manganese and iodine too.  Pineapples contain the anti-inflammatory enzyme Bromelain important for conditions such as Endometriosis. Bromelain has an anticoagulant effect – so great for blood flow too.

Oranges – contain plenty of vitamin C, vitamin D,  folate, potassium and thiamine (vitamin B1). It also keeps you hydrated and is great for supporting the immune system.

Mint – a good source of iron, folate and beta carotene- adding to the balance and taste of this lovely shot.

Coconut water is made from the clear liquid from the inside of green coconuts. It’s not to be confused with coconut milk, which is made from the water and the flesh from the inside of a mature coconut. It is fantastic for hydration as it contains natural electrolytes and is a great source of potassium – a brilliant post-workout drink. Low in calories, a good source of calcium, magnesium and packed full of antioxidants.

These ingredients work together to provide a nutrient punch that not only hydrates our cells but also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that support fertility and the immune system.
