The liver is an essential organ that removes toxins from the body’s blood supply, maintains healthy blood sugar levels, regulates blood clotting, and performs hundreds of other vital functions. It is located beneath the rib cage in the right upper abdomen.

The best way to look after your liver and to avoid liver disease is to take active steps toward a healthy life.

The main causes of liver disease are excessive alcohol, drug (including prescribed and over-the-counter medications) or calorie consumption and viruses such as hepatitis. In its before stages, liver damage can be reversed, which is why it is important to identify signs of liver damage early. Liver enzymes can appear normal when the liver is inflamed. So, protecting your liver through maintaining a healthy lifestyle and avoiding excess alcohol consumption is always important.

This test is for you if:

  •  You want to check your liver function and to look for signs of liver damage.
