Need a quick breakfast or snack idea which helps to introduce more fruit into your diet at the same time?
Why not try a lovely fruity toast? Toast a piece of seeded bread or sourdough and smear over with a nut butter of your choice. Top with banana slices and a handful of raspberries and enjoy!
This contains a lovely nutrient balance. The toast will supply some carbohydrate with lots of goodness from the seeds (if its sourdough this is good for gut health), the nut butter provides a mix of nutrients including protein, fibre, B vitamins, zinc, phosphorus and vitamin E. The banana and raspberries are both a good source of magnesium – the happy mineral (helping to reduce stress) and provide numerous other important nutrients too. If you don’t like banana or are avoiding it – swap for avocado as this is another great source of many nutrients including healthy monounsaturated fat, magnesium and is also low in carbohydrates.
