Description

I’m Naomi Woolfson the founder of embracefertility.co.uk, offering inspiration, support and community to women who are going through infertility.

For the past seven years, I have worked to raise the level of understanding about this diagnosis – from the debilitating emotional impact and the overwhelming feelings of sadness, helplessness and grief, to the simple yet powerful mind-body techniques that provide relief and build resilience during this highly emotive time while greatly increasing the chances of conceiving.

As a practicing Cognitive Hypnotherapist, Emotional Freedom Technique and Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner, I work with women across the globe and my sessions have been called transformative, enlightening and powerful.

The Embrace Fertility Method is my signature 12 week online mind-body program that guides you from feeling overwhelmed and anxious to empowered and confident on your journey to motherhood. Combining mindfulness and cognitive behavioural therapy with powerful EFT and energy work, I developed the course during my own healing journey through infertility.

My intention is that every woman facing infertility can experience the transformation that learning how to work with her mind can have on her fertility journey.

About Fertility Coaching

The effects of stress on fertility are well known and numerous studies have shown that stress reduces the probability of conception.

When an individual is experiencing stress, high levels of the hormone cortisol (often referred to as the stress hormone) is secreted in the body, which is produced by the pituitary gland.

In normal circumstances, cortisol has a positive effect on the body, and is responsible for the regulation of blood pressure, insulin release, assists with the immune system and the inflammatory response.  It is, however, important that following a stressful event, the body’s relaxation response is activated so the function of the body can return to normal.

Sadly, in our active lives, the body’s stress response is activated so often that the body does not always have a chance to return to normal, resulting in a state of chronic stress.  Thus high levels of cortisol continue to be secreted.  This can result in Impaired brain function, suppressed thyroid function, an imbalance in blood sugar levels, decrease in bone and muscle tissue, raised blood pressure and lower immunity.

This will all have an impact on fertility as the body is not operating at its optimum level.  This is where the relaxation response, which can be induced by regular meditation, has a very positive effect.  This response creates changes in metabolism, heart rate, respiration, and even blood pressure.

In some cases, brain chemicals and neurotransmitters are physically altered because of the practice as well.

Your Course Options

Mindfulness, visualisations and hypnosis for fertility.

Beautiful and powerful tracks to support you through every step of your cycle be that while you are trying to get pregnant naturally or with the help of fertility treatments such as Clomid, IUI, IVF or ICSI.

The benefits of doing this:

Reduce patient anxiety and minimise the risk of depression.

The Mental Health Foundation reports that clinical studies have shown that by practising mindfulness participants experienced up to a 70% reduction in anxiety, and an increase in disease fighting antibodies. The results showed improvements to the immune system, improved sleep and a reduction in negative feelings such as anger, tension and depression – all of which have a negative impact on fertility.

In a large federally-funded study, 55% of previously infertile women who met regularly in a Mind-Body Infertility program conceived within 6 months after the program, compared to only 20% in a control group that used no mind-body techniques.5

The Academic Fertility and IVF Unit, Soroka Medical Center study suggests that the use of hypnosis during embryo transfer may significantly improve the IVF/ET cycle outcome in terms of increased implantation and clinical pregnancy rates. Furthermore, it seems that the patients’ attitude to the treatment was more favourable.

I have created a track specifically for embryo transfer.

A client recently let me know that for the first time ever she was able to completely relax her legs and abdomen during embryo transfer even though in the past she has had sexual trauma and found this position incredibly distressing. She was able to use the techniques in MP3 to guide her into deep relaxation.
